He was the son of Albert Sr. and Rose (Spears) Andrews and was born on August 17, 1924. Albert was a 1942 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. He was a WWII Army Veteran where he was a corporal. He served in the Normandy, France and Germany campaigns. He was a member of the 107th Field Artillery Battalion where he was a heavy machine Gunner. During his military service he was awarded the Silver Star and good conduct medals. Albert was employed at the Norwich State Hospital retiring in 1987, and then later was employed at Sears Roebucks as a mechanic for many years. Albert is survived by his daughters Linda of Canterbury and Deborah of Norwich. He is also survived by Ama Ampomah (his live-in health aid) that gave him exceptional care for many years. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his parents and a sister Dorothy Andrews Gunnison. Funeral services will be at Maplewood Cemetery and are private at the convenience of the family.
