He was born to the late Joseph Clinton Johnson and Jeanne Johnson, April 6, 1970, in Harbor City, California. David graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1988. He later graduated with honors with a BA in Industrial Arts from California State University, Los Angeles in 1996. He also earned his Teaching Credential in 1997. David grew up in La Palma and after Graduating, relocated to Reseda.
Growing up, David was an avid swimmer and enjoyed competing with the local swim team. This continued through high school as he swam for the high school swim and water polo teams. He was particularly proud of making the varsity polo team as a freshman. His love for aquatics developed into a love of coaching, prompting him to serve as swim coach and lifeguard at Pierce College and El Camino Real High School. David was also skilled with automobiles and worked as an Auto Detailer and Auto Mechanic professionally for many years. His interests in automobiles led him to become a High School Auto Shop Teacher.
David was passionate about comic books and dreamed of opening his own comic book store someday. He loved watching football with friends, film, and all areas of technology. He was a dependable friend and loving son and could always be found with Maya, his Siberian Husky, by his side.
David is survived by mother, Jeanne Johnson, of Clovis; and sister, Kristen Miller, of Clovis.
In remembrance, a service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30 at Bastian & Perrott, Oswald Mortuary, located at 18728 Parthenia St. Northridge, Ca 91324.
