Betty Jean Jones-Hall was born on May 16, 1943, in Macon Mississippi to the late Hallie Hall and Bob Willie Bush. At the age of 14, Betty accepted Christ and united with the New Hope Methodist Church. When Betty was 15, she moved to Fairfield Alabama with her mother and grandfather. There, she united with the Mount Nebo Baptist Church and sang in the youth choir. In 1961, Betty graduated from Fairfield High School with honors. She then married David Young who preceded her in death.
In 1964, Betty moved to Los Angeles. There, she met and married Steve Jones, Sr. and became an active member of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized under Reverend A.W. Lott. She joined the usher board where she served for 21 years. Betty was assistant junior director of vacation Bible School. Betty was a dedicated mother who served as president of the PTA at her children’s school and organized the first Girl Scout Troop of 31 girls at Lauren Miller Elementary School.
Betty later attended Los Angeles Southwest College where she studied CA Mortgage Banking and Real Estate. In 1985, Betty and her family moved to the San Fernando Valley where she became a successful real estate agent and financial consultant for over 20 years. She later united with Lakeview Terrace American Baptist Church. There she joined the usher board and worked in other capacities. Betty leaves to mourn 7 children, 20 grandchildren, 2 great grand children, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Visitation will be held Monday evening, March 21st from 5 pm to 8 pm at Bastian & Perrott, Oswald Mortuary, 18728 Parthenia St., Northridge, California.
Prior to the Funeral Service there will be a Visitation Tuesday, March 22nd, at 10:00 A.M. at Lakeview Terrace American Baptist Church. Funeral Service is Tuesday, March 22nd at 11 am at Lakeview Terrace American Baptist Church, 11901 Foothill Blvd, Sylmar, California.
Interment is to follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St, Chatsworth, California.
