Our beloved wife and mother was born August 19, 1931 in Akron, OH to
Harold C. and Rose O. Rice and passed away August 28, 2014 at her home in Reseda, CA. Betty is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bob, her children Janine Graves (Floyd), and Steve Hunter (Jodi), her brothers Richard Rice (Iva) and Robert Rice (Donna), sisters in-law Lois Hunter and Laverne Rice, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Betty grew up in Peoria, IL, where she attended Woodruff High School. She lettered in softball and was an officer for the Girls Athletic Association until graduation.
Betty attended Biola University and later attended Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA where she received an AA degree in Art. Betty worked as a calligrapher, sign painter, and graphic artist for over 20 years.
Betty served at church leading a girls club, and serving as Preschool Superintendent for eight years. Betty loved to host dinner parties and always made people feel welcome in her home. She was also known as the best pie baker around. Betty enjoyed playing harmonica especially with her brother Bill. All her family and friends will miss Betty. We take comfort in knowing she is home with her Lord.
