Romie "Betty" Nabors Tierce

NORTHPORT – Romie ""Betty"" Nabors Tierce, age 96, of Northport, was born on November 4, 1919 and died May 10, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Waddell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; three sisters; one brother; three grandchildren, Teresa Nabors, Stephanie Miller and Chris Hoggle; son-in-law, Don Lancaster; daughter-in-law, Murline Nabors; and husbands, Chalmer Nabors and Buster Tierce.

Survivors include her daughters, Rosalyn Lancaster, Romie Hoggle (Wayne) and Cherry Miller (Glenn); son, Sherell Nabors; grandchildren, LaDonna Sanford, Mike Lancaster (Rainey), Deborah Dunkling (Rick) and Melissa Kerr (Paul); and a number of great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Windsong North, staff and helpers of Caring Days, Hospice of West Alabama, Indian Lake Baptist, First Baptist, First Macedonia Methodist and Eula Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Caring Days Adult Day Care, Hospice of West Alabama or Indian Lake Baptist Church.
