Minnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Jones, her parents William Earl and Jessie Ardee Goodman, brother Harold, and sisters Mary Earl, Joyce Nadine, and Rosetta.
Survivors include her son, Randall Jones (Belinda) and daughter, Alisa Swindle (Philip). She has four grandchildren: Justen Jones, Jacob Jones (Kia), Trey Swindle (Mikaela), and Anna Katherine Frost (Lee). She has five great grandchildren: Anna Presley Swindle, Addison Kennedy Frost, Allison Katherine Frost, Raylan Swindle, and Whitt Jones. Minnie is also survived by her brother, David Goodman (Ginny) and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Minnie worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years. Before her retirement, she was Postmaster at the Fosters Post Office. Minnie was an active member of Arbor Springs Baptist Church where she kept the pantry stocked, made sure flowers were in the Sanctuary, and was a Co-Activity Coordinator for the Senior Citizens with one of her best friends Frances Willingham. Minnie was also a member of the Gorgas Homemakers Club.
Active Pallbearers include: Justen Jones, Jacob Jones, Trey Swindle, Lee Frost, David Hill, Sam Appling, Nick Davis, Jason Jones, and Jon Jones.
Honorary Pallbearers included life-long friends and neighbors of the Samantha community, members of Arbor Springs Baptist Church, members of Oregonia Baptist Church, and the Amedisys Hospice team. The family also recognizes three special sitters who took such great care of Minnie: Kim Bigham, Rhonda Christian Carr, and Sandra Collins.
Minnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family and friends have many wonderful, dear, and funny memories of the times spent with her. She had a good time wherever she went, and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed but we are comforted in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father and those who have gone on before us.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Arbor Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or Amedisys Hospice.
