Survivors include his parents, Thomas Andrew and Karen Morris Gresham of Coker; two brothers, Jonah William Gresham of Coker and Jesse Lee-Morris Coley (Lanae) of Duncanville; two sisters, Kristin Coley Swinson (Bradley) of Northport and Kerri Coley Roberts (Jody) of Coker; nephew, Karsen Joshua Cooley; niece, Maggie Suzannah Coley; uncles, Frank Morris of Coker, Dennis Morris of Coker, Jim Gresham (Dee) of Lynchburg, Va.; and aunts Julie Gresham of Tuscaloosa and Patricia Bleicher of Arlington, Va.; and special lady friend, Miss Kelcey Fowler of Coker.
Jared was born on March 20, 1997 at Northport Medical Center. He was a handsome, gentle giant, standing at six feet five inches tall. He was an intelligent and creative young man; his passion was computers and their operating systems and hardware, and video games. He loved cats and Revocation Radio, and blue was his favorite color. One of his favorite past-times was playing D & D with his friends; his character was “Dalen the Tall.” His game piece will be retired with honors. Jared was a born again Christian and this was epitomized by his compassion and loyalty, always adding his friends or their family to our family prayer list. He brought out the best in people, especially his friends and family. He was strength to our family, and guardian to his younger brother, Jonah. He graduated from Sipsey Valley High School this past May and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was planning to attend Shelton Community College in the spring and wanted to study Computer Programming and Robotics. He was disappointed that he didn’t get to start in the fall with his class mates, but we cherish that extra time we were allowed to have him with us.
Honorary Pallbearers are Friends and neighbors of Mt. Olive and Coker Community Members of Bethany Baptist Church and College and Career Sunday School Class 2015 Class and current classes, teachers and staff of Sipsey Valley High School, The staff and physicians of North Harbor Pavilion, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Oney, Mr. & Mrs. Ryan Fowler, our friends and family that are too numerous to mention, and his wonderful friends and members of the Entourage: Josh, DJ, Tim, John, Christian, Addison, Ricky, Kelcey, Katie, Duncan, Little Jared, Sam, Jackson.
Second Corinthians 5:8 NIV, “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”
We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts.
