Mary Anne "Molly" Koning passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on November 8th, 2023 with her family at her bedside. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frans (1986) and is survived by her sister Meg, daughter Margot, grandson Ryan and granddaughter Lindsay.
She was trained as a nurse and midwife in Manchester, England. She travelled to Canada with her sister in 1956 and nursed in Trail, B.C. for a couple years, where she met her husband. They then moved to North Vancouver, where she began her long nursing career at Lions Gate Hospital, ultimately becoming nursing supervisor.
Molly loved family and gardening. In her retirement she volunteered with the blood pressure program and was very active with her church.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 28, 2023 at 11 am at St. Catherine’s Anglican Church,1058 Ridgewood Drive, North Vancouver with a reception following in the church hall.
