Born in Kingston Ontario, Larry made his way westward as a young man after spending so much time on the west coast with his brother Jack, after falling in love with the west coast lifestyle. Larry settled down in North Vancouver with his wife Betty (Beans). There the two of them continued to enjoy the west coast lifestyle, frequently on their Boat "Sunfish".
Larry was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) of 36 years.
Larry was fortunate enough to meet a new love, his life-companion, Dorothy. For almost 15 years Larry and Dorothy travelled around the world, cruising, laughing, and dancing the night away.
Larry prioritized family above all,
His endearing kindness, wisdom and insight was unparalleled. Lovingly known as ‘Uncle Larry’ to many, he was an influential male figure to all he met, this showed in his years of devotion as a Big Brother of Big Brother, Big Sister of Canada.
Larry had a charm like no other, He often gave everyone he loved a sense of feeling of such care and importance to the point that everyone felt like his favourite and everyone loved him for it.
While Larry and Dorothy weren't globetrotting, they enjoyed hosting many family events. Be it hiking up to the family Cabin "Carbonear", hosting sleepovers at Grandpa's, or to having his world famous summer family BBQ's.
His home was his Castle, and his neighbours were his community. The door was always open for patio refreshments and good conversation at Larry's.
Reaching his twilight years he had always stated that he wanted to pass away peacefully in his home. On a sunny April morning, reading his paper on his couch at home, with a freshly brewed coffee at his side, Larry's soul moved onto the next realm.
As Larry would put it "I'll decide"
