Janice, or Jan as many who loved her called her, was so many things to so many people it is hard to encapsulate in words. She had a long career with the Bank of Montreal before she retired to focus on raising her son. Janice was an avid sports watcher from hockey to baseball to golf, you name it she followed it. When she is not camping and cruising to see the world, Janice loved courting Lady Luck at the casino. Janice was a lover of music and impromptu living room dance parties to the tunes of Elton John, the Eagle and sometimes just what was playing on the radio.
In 2004, Janice was diagnosed with cancer which she fought valiantly until the end for 17 years. Through it all Janice kept her sense of humor and lasting optimism, showing a strength that many of her caretakers marveled at. Throughout her battle with cancer Janice was helped by so many medical professionals including those in the Cancer Clinic whom she and her loved ones are eternally grateful for.
Janice was a lifelong friend to so many who she loved traveling, camping and cruising with. She had a brilliant smile that lit up the room and was the life of the party. Janice was a devoted mother to her son, Jason, who was the apple of her eye. From the first moment she laid eyes on him, she poured all her love, her wit and her kindness to make him the caring man he is today. To her husband of 45 years, Earl, Janice was his world. She was his companion, his love, his everything. Janice was his partner in every sense of the word. They built a house together, made it a home. They raised a son together, made him a kind loving man. They made so many friends together, and made it a community.
Janice was so many more things to so many more people, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin, friend, and neighbor. She was a beautiful soul who left us all far too soon. She will be missed dearly but she will live on in all of our happy memories.
