Harold Benedict Cassidy passed away peacefully in Richmond General Hospital at the age of ninety-seven.
Harold was the ninth of twelve children. The son of James Clifford and Rachael (Mazerolle) Cassidy, he was born and raised in Chatham, New Brunswick.
On December 15, 1953 Harold was married to his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Ellen Christiansen (deceased March 1, 2007). Harold and Ellen shared several mutual passions that included gardening and traveling around the world.
Harold was enlisted into the Canadian Army on February 22, 1943 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. During his service he was honored with the Italy Star Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp War Medal. Harold was wounded in action in Italy in 1943 and was Honorably Discharged on December 12, 1944. Harold then had a career as an iron worker, where his worked spanned from Washington State to British Columbia.
Affectionately known as Hoppy, Harold brought humor, love, inspiration and his love of music to all of his friends at Legends Pub.
Harold is survived by his stepson Rod Rosevold, and step-grandchildren Derek Rosevold (children Vanessa and Victoria), Vince Rosevold, and Janel Quiring (children Maximilian and Zosha). Harold will also be dearly missed by his twenty-four nieces and nephews and all of his many friends.

A private burial service for will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on May 13, 2020.
