Pre-deceased by her husband Angus, sister Joy McCorquodale, niece Julie Whitlock and recently
her friend since childhood Beverley Shippam. Survived by her niece Carol (Russ) Chase,
nephew Kelly (Kathy) McCorquodale, great nephew Ryan Whitlock, great niece Candace
Whitlock. Freda will be truly missed by her family and close friends Alex, Alexis, Doreen, Greg,
Jennifer, Joan, Kees, Patsy, Roger, Ross and so many more friends. Freda loved her family, friends and church. The beautiful rose garden that Freda and Angus cultivated with 100 rose bushes won several awards. Freda was very proud of her degree in education from U.B.C. and her teaching diploma from Trinity College of Music in London as well as playing violin with the Vancouver Symphony. She had a desire to teach as much as she enjoyed learning and was talented in so many ways. Freda played the violin and piano and for several years belonged to a string quartet that played at retirement
homes. Freda’s appreciation for doing fine needle work expanded into working on a loom to create a runner that covers all 14 stairs in her house depicting flowers and birds that inhabit her much loved garden. Freda
was always a very devoted member of the United Church. Service will be held at the Peninsula United Church 2756 127th Street Surrey B.C. on Saturday January 26, 2019 2:00 pm with a memorial Tea
to follow. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to a charity of your
choice.
