Born and raised in Binghamton, NY, she graduated from Binghamton High School and was a proud Bearcat alumna of Binghamton University. She moved to South Florida shortly after graduation to fulfill her dream of living in the Sunshine State. Here, she met and married her soulmate, Steve. They not only worked together, but also shared a common love of family, friends, the ocean, boating, travel, cooking, and entertaining. Sarah’s greatest joy was being Steve’s wife and fur-mom to Luna, Piper, Domino, and Raven. Sarah’s smile lit up the room before she even entered. She radiated happiness wherever she went. Her kind and tender spirit will shine on in our hearts forever.
Sarah is survived by her devoted husband Steve; her loving parents John and Michelle Shine; her brothers James, and his wife Tasha, and Richard Shine; her in-laws, Nancy and Lars Thorson, for whom she had great affection, along with her brother-in-law Dave and his wife Anne. Sarah will be greatly missed by her adoring Aunts and Uncles, Susie (Bob) Nealon, Jim (Ginger) Shine, Kathie Shine Mee, Aly (Pete) Auseklis, Nicole (David) Brown, Lisa (Rick) Bradshaw, Robin Roberts, special “Aunt” Kylen (Tom) Anderson, and great-uncle Mark (Randa) Wilbur. She leaves behind many beloved cousins and cherished friends from Binghamton, Florida, and across the States.
Sarah is predeceased by her grandparents James and Mary Ellyn Shine, Sylvia German, and Richard and Marina Wilbur; her uncle Bob Mee, and her great-aunt Karen Crosby.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation, and Event Center, 754 US-1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 1 p.m. led by Fr. Aidan Lacy of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Palm Beach Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sarah’s memory to Donate Life America or your local food pantry.
