Riba D. Pittman

Riba of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida was born on December 4, 1937 in Valdese, North Carolina and passed away on September 16, 2019 at the age 81. She came to Lake Park, Florida in 1957 to marry her husband of almost 60 years, Charles Pittman, Jr. She retired from Pratt Whitney after 30 years of service. Riba’s greatest love was her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers, singing in her church choir, watching the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Charles; her parents, and 7 brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her Daughter, Teresa Leonhart (Rick) Biby and Sons, Kevin (Laura) Pittman, and Kyle Pittman (fiancée Cindy Peterson); Grandchildren, Tiffany, KC, Tyler, Charlee, Justin, Cody, and Bo; Great Grandchildren, Cooper, Blythe, and Sebastian; her brother, Beauford Robinson and her sister, Lydia Hoyle, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation and memorial celebration will be held on Friday, September 20th from 6-8 PM at Howard Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach. A Funeral Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 10 am, First Baptist Church of Lake Park, 625 Park Avenue, Lake Park. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta.

The family would like to personally thank Hospice of Palm Beach County/TrustBridge and the staff of the memory care unit at Discovery Village for taking such good care of Riba. A special thank you to her caregiver, Norma Stewart, for her love, care, and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County/TrustBridge or the Alzheimer’s Association may be made in Riba’s honor.
