Priscilla Eden Gulliford Searcy was born on February 19, 1948 to William Irving and Marie Anthony Gulliford in Roanoke, Virginia. At age 4, her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida and then to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where she grew up and attended Fletcher High School, becoming a varsity cheerleader and Miss Fletcher. On May 8, 1963, while Priscilla was in the 9th grade, she began going steady with Christian Dietrich Searcy. They remained together through college in Virginia and married on October 11, 1969. Priscilla taught 3rd grade at Holy Name Catholic School in St. Petersburg, Florida to put Chris through law school at Stetson Law. They moved to Miami in 1973 to begin Chris's law practice. After several years, they moved to North Palm Beach where they have lived the past 41 years. She was a devout Christian of the Catholic faith.
Priscilla gave birth to four wonderful children - Henry Faulk Searcy, II, Christian Dietrich Searcy, Jr., Angela Eden Searcy Coriell, and William Eric Searcy. They graced her with three extraordinary grandchildren - Elizabeth Lynn, Alexander Henry, and Christian Dietrich Searcy, III. In addition, she became mother to 16 more extraordinary young adults who lived as members of the family as tutor companions to their autistic son, Henry. Priscilla devoted herself to her husband, children, grandchildren, and the many fantastic friends she developed over the years.
From chairing the Festival of the Trees as a member of the Junior League to co-chairing the Benjamin School Bash to serving as First Lady of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Priscilla left a lasting impression on all she met. She was in her element at the Lime House in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas and enjoyed relaxing with friends over a game of Scrabble, Words With Friends, or bridge. Nothing gave her more excitement than decorating a friend or family member's house, matchmaking, using her deal-finding skills to shower her family and friends with gifts, or watching a University of Virginia basketball victory. More than any accomplishment, she sowed the seeds of love. She loved God, she loved people, and she loved life.
