Lana Jean Basick (née Caza), a cherished culinary artist and beloved family matriarch, passed away on April 18, 2024 at the age of 77. Born in Windsor, Ontario, and settling in Homestead, Florida, Lana, alongside her beloved husband Roger, established the renowned French restaurant Le Kir, which became a cornerstone of the community. Their entrepreneurial spirit flourished as they ventured into the retail world with Rustique, further embedding their legacy in the local culture. In retirement, Lana's joy was found in the laughter and stories shared with family across Florida and Canada. Predeceased by her husband and parents (Theresa and Raymond), Lana's memory is honored by her sister Tara (Sal), niece Amanda (Renz), nephew Jason (Marly), stepchildren Christian (Debbie), Nathalie (Simon) and step grandsons, Stefan, Sebastian, and Nicholas. Her kindness touched many lives, and her absence is profoundly felt. Lana's legacy of love, culinary mastery, and community spirit will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace.
