Peggy Louise Wood

Peggy Louise Wood, 94, of Sherwood, AR, passed away January 11, 2024, in Little Rock, AR. She was born July 9, 1929, in Pecos, Texas, to John Richard Holland and Effie Belle Standiford. Peggy graduated from Jacksonville High School and later from Little Rock Business College. She was a long-term member of Victory Baptist Church, treasurer of her Sunday school class, a life-long member of Beta Sigma Phi, and Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed volunteering, and spending time with her friends and family. Peggy was the life of the party without ever having a drink!

Her husband of 54 years Billie Edward Wood precedes her in death: parents, John Richard Holland and Effie Belle Holland (Loyd)Richardson; brothers, John Harvey (Rilla)Holland, William (Billy) (Joanne)Holland, Jimmy Holland, Tommy Holland; and sister, Nancy Anne Holland.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel Richard Wood, and David Edward Wood; granddaughter, Jourdan Ashley Wood (Clayton) Williams; three great-grandchildren, Jase-Astin Laine Williams, Lillie-Jade Claire Williams, Judd-Anders Levi Williams; an extra special niece, Debra (Derek) Rieathbaum; two great nephews, Greg (Brandy) Cathey and stepson Spencer, and Tyler Rieathbaum; sister, Katherine Merle Coates; baby brother Bobby (Sharon) Holland; nephew, Donnie Holland; niece, Shelly (Neill)Washburn; sister in law Blanche Holland and a multitude of family members of both the Holland and Wood Families. Too many loved ones and loyal friends to name, but always in our hearts, you know who you are and that you were and are loved!

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday January 13, 2024 at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in North Little Rock, AR. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Brother Tom Hart officiating. Private burial Wednesday January 17, 2024, weather permitting.

Peggy loved wild flowers and trees and passionate about children having enough to eat and clothed properly so in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Non-Profit of your choice that would best express her wishes.
