Mary Helen Noland Sinkey, age 85, entered her Heavenly home on September 30, 2024. Born on October 26, 1938, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to James Madison Noland and Myrtle Lilly Noland, Mary was the third of six children. In 1954, she married the love of her life, James Sinkey, and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2017.
A lifelong resident of North Little Rock, Mary and James built their dream home on Willow Beach Lake, where she filled her days with love, laughter, and generosity. As a devoted wife, mother, and Meme, Mary cherished her role as the heart and soul of her family. She was a loving mother to four sons and one daughter and a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mary was well-known for her unmatched hospitality and her generous spirit. She could always be found in the kitchen, ready to whip up something delicious for any guest, ensuring no one left her home hungry. Her kindness made everyone feel welcome and special, yet her spunky redhead spirit meant she never hesitated to speak her mind.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and warmth will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband James Sinkey, and her sons Jimbo Sinkey, Virgil Sinkey, and Gary Sinkey. She was also preceded by her siblings Ritchie Noland, Daryl Noland, and Elizabeth White.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Steve Sinkey (Lori Sinkey), her daughter Crystal Malloy (Paul Malloy), her sister Shirley Armstrong, and her brother James Noland. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Sarahann Sinkey, Abbie Sinkey, Madalyn Harbin, Jason Sinkey, Justin Sinkey, Sherrie Sinkey, Chase Sinkey, Caitlyn Malloy, Mary Claire Malloy, Caroline Malloy, and Emma Malloy, along with 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary will be deeply missed, but her memory and the values she embodied will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
