Margaret M Morgan

Margaret Mangum Morgan, born February 4, 1930 in Terry, Mississippi, went to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, March 9, 2022. She joins her beloved husband Glenn, parents Robert and Agnes Mangum, siblings R.L. Mangum and Francis Mangum Davis and a host of other family and friends. Margaret and Glenn were blessed with three children, Chuck (Vicky) Morgan, John (Brenda) Morgan, Beverly (Wayne) Ruthven; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Misty) Morgan, Angela (Tim) Birdseye, Chris (Jana) Morgan, Jim (Cara) Morgan, Morgan (Eric) Herndon, Brice (Lynn) Morgan, and Emily (Kyle) Eisenach; two bonus grandchildren, Mary Frances (Bill) Hemm and Melissa (Karl) Coleman; and 29 great grandchildren.

Margaret grew up in Terry, Mississippi and graduated from Terry High School. She married the love of life, Glenn Morgan May 1, 1947. She served alongside Glenn in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas churches. She graduated from University of Southern Mississippi after having three children. Margaret taught elementary grades for 28 years in Mississippi and Arkansas schools.

Margaret loved gardening, making a warm inviting home, teaching children in school and in church. She loved having all her family gathered. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren loved being with “Titter” and Papaw. She was a wonderful cook who always prepared their favorite foods. With her, life was fun! She brought joy to every occasion whether playing games, shucking corn, cleaning or going for walks. Margaret maintained a positive attitude, looking for God working in all situations.

Margaret is remembered for her fierce love of family, encouragement, hospitality, and fun-loving spunk! She inspired others through her gracious, tenacious, faith-filled lifestyle. Margaret sought to point others to Jesus in all areas of her life…family, neighbors, church family, friends and students in her classroom. People and relationships were her heart.

One of Margaret’s favorite hymns was “To God Be the Glory”. That was her heart’s desire for her life. She accomplished this through God’s strength and passed on her purpose to those who know and love her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The family would like to thank the many kind and loving caregivers at Parkstone Retirement Center, Elmcroft Assisted Living, and Seniors Serving Seniors. Margaret’s life will be celebrated Friday, March 18, 10:30 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 North Shackleford, Little Rock, AR, followed by visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to East Main Baptist Church, El Dorado, AR, First Baptist Church, Warren, AR, Canaan Baptist Church, Spearsville, LA, Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock, AR, Children’s Tumor (NF1) Foundation, or Baptist Health Hospice.
