Linda Jean Bird

Linda Jean Bird, 80, of Cabot, AR (formally of Sherwood, AR) passed away October 11, 2024, at her home. She was born July 18, 1944, in Paragould, AR to Billy Gillespie and Imogene Penny. Linda had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and she modeled the love that Jesus has for her for all others that she knew. She loved everyone and only saw the good in others.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

Linda worked over 30 years at Camp Robinson. She loved her job and taught her family a strong work ethic that continues to serve them well.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Marvin Penny and Bessie Penny (Corbin); father, Billy Gillespie; mother, Jean Higgins; first husband, Wilbur Kyzer; second husband, Kenneth Shook; third husband Moody (Hank) Bird; and two brothers, Eddie Higgins, and Stanley Gillespi.

Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Kyzer Shook and Lilia Rocaberie Shook; two grandchildren, Jennali Cybulski, and Kelsey Shook; and three great grandchildren, Ryli Vines, Chief Tolbert, and Penn Cybulski.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday October 18, 2024, at 10:00 am at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR. Brother David Mitchell will be officiating.
