Frederick Cary Castle, 78, of Sherwood, passed away on August 18, 2018. He was born on December 16, 1939 to the late Hazel Moody Castle and Frederick Ralph Castle. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Frederick Christopher Castle.
Cary is survived by two daughters: Robin Steinmetz and husband Robert of Conway, Allison Ward and husband Matt of Sherwood; six grandchildren: Luke, Nick, Jake, and Natalie Steinmetz, Abby and Aja Ward; his former wife of 38 years: Sue Castle of Sherwood; brother: Roger Castle and wife Marlene of Denver, Colorado; two sisters: Kris Thulson and husband Jim of Canon City, Colorado, Kim Whelan and husband Kevin of Parachute, Colorado; step mother: Jean Castle of Denver, Colorado; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Cary grew up in Hope, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army for 3 years. He then began a career with Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor where he was a faithful employee for 43 years. In his free time, he was an avid collector of antiques.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. A visitation with family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service. Online guestbook at www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
