Elizabeth Josephine Parker, 89, of Hensley Arkansas departed her earthly home on Thursday, July 6, 2023 to join her husband Charles Edward “Charlie” Parker. Elizabeth was born on July 16, 1933, in Mountain View, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Richardson) Partin. Elizabeth worked several years for the Arkansas Realtors Association but later in life she answered the call to work for the Diocese of Little Rock. After being at the Diocese for a short period of time she became Administrative Assistant to Bishop Andrew McDonald where she stayed until his retirement. She married Charles Edward Parker on April 2nd, 1956, and he preceded her in death March 17th, 1976. Elizabeth was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Little Rock where she volunteered her time up until she moved into assisted living. She enjoyed her worldly travels (especially her trips to Ireland and Paris), reading books, but mostly enjoyed visiting with her friends and family.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Charles Stephen “Chuck” Parker (Rosemary) of New Bern, North Carolina, Mark Edward Parker of Jerusalem, Arkansas, daughter Nancy Rebecca Bagwell (Richard) of Hensley, Arkansas, eight grandchildren Colton Bagwell (Kayla), Mackenzie Bagwell, Jason Parker (Amanda), Jennifer Williams (James), Kyle Parker (Jennifer), Joe Don Parker, Channing Stephanie Parker (Emmaline), and Jimmy Parker, 7 great grandchildren, a brother Steve Partin, two sisters Regina Kinslow and Bernadine Dean, all of Conway, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, daughter in law Denise Parker, sister Marion Kelly and sister Mary Walter.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Morris Hall Chapel located on the 2nd floor of Morris Hall on the grounds of St John’s Catholic Center 2500 N Tyler St Littler Rock AR 72207, the family will receive visitors starting at 9:00 a.m. A burial will follow the services at Rest Hills Memorial Park 7724 Landers Rd North Little Rock AR 72117.
Elizabeth's family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her honor to Independent Seniors of Arkansas, 11610 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Suite 103 #135, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223.
The family would like to thank Independent Seniors of Arkansas especially Doug Ballinger for their care, love, and dedication to Elizabeth's wellbeing for the past 4 years while she resided at Andover House, you guys treated her as if she was part of your own family. The family would also like to thank Dennis Lee, Tricia Gentry, and Father John O’Connell for all their efforts in helping us secure Morris Hall Chapel for Elizabeth’s final mass.
