Betty Richter, formerly of Albany New York, passed away peacefully at home in Fort Lauderdale on October 18, 2018.Betty was the finest of wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother of the traditional style. She was always by the side of her dedicated and loving husband, Irving, who pre-deceased her.
Totally devoted to her three children, Alan, Barry and Carol, she provided them the role model of family love and bonding that continues to this day.Reliable friend, amazing cook, talented seamstress, she enjoyed sharing all her skills with her children and grandchildren, especially her love of sewing and handcrafts. Her love of the arts and her technical skills are evident in her grandchildren’s hobbies and professions. She was uniformly loved by Jennifer and Laurie, Lee Ann and Jessie, Scott and Jeffrey as well as her 11 great grandchildren.
Born in Hudson New York in 1923, she graduated from Hudson high school, became a court stenographer, and moved to New York City where she met Irving . They were forever together. That happy union of 63 years created the tightknit family clan she can proudly leave behind.
