June 7, 1927 - December 14, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Levine on December 14, 2024. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he was surrounded by family and love during his final moments.
Born on June 7, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, Bernard resided in Coney Island and attended New York Technical School in Manhattan, where he became a fast typist and a draftman. He worked in New York City as a appraiser for 20 years. In the 70s, along with his wife Frieda, Bernard decided to sell his home, and move to Boca Raton, Florida. He then worked for nearly 30 years as a Government Letter Carrier. He loved being outside in the sunshine delivering the mail. He was revered by all he met. Additionally, Bernard started his own Home Watch company and independently serviced nearly 100 customers.
Bernard loved the social aspects of the Boca Pointe Club and was an avid tennis player into his 90s. He was frequently seen dancing with Frieda, whom he adored. He was always a generous supporter of Veterans and their causes. Bernard, a veteran himself, proudly served his country as a member of the Merchant Marines and the United States Navy during World War II.
Known for his boundless kindness, warmth, and advice, he had the gift of making everyone he met feel special. Bernard was a social and compassionate friend and neighbor. His magnetic personality and love for life endeared him to all who knew him. He found joy in simple pleasures: family time, Saturdays with the Bagel Boys, and trips to the theater.
Bernard was a devoted husband to his late wife, Frieda, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, Rhonda and Steven; his grandchildren, Jason, Justin, and Jennifer; and a wide circle of extended family and friends. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A chapel service will be held at the Star of David Memorial Chapel, located at 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, on December 17, 2024, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
