I remember Serena as always  positive, even in her illness she was pleasant. My last time I was in her company was a picnic at the beach ⛱.  She was still smiling. She brought a cake that I'm hooked on for life, it was fluffy, light and not to sweet with lots of fruit. I think we're going to get that recipe and bake it in Paradise together. Soon we will have the chance to do many things. I always tell Darleen, Serena is so beautiful from inside out. I will continue this race. I pray for courage, endurance, strength, continued faith and love for Jehovah & Jesus.
And to love all the Friends. My concussion is you are missed already, so we must continue on so we can welcome you

Sister Brenda Davis 

My sweet little precious sister was the bravest person I know. She never complained about her hair loss. I was devastated. She had enough hair for ten people. She has a twin brother named Cal. They are the youngest of the padgett’s. My sister knew that when she fell asleep in death Jehovah our God and loving Creator would remember her. She knew that. My sister Sandra adored her. She died last year. She will stand up again!!!! Jehovah has given Jesus the authority to resurrect those that are asleep in death. It is temporary and Serena and Sandra knew that. I loved them so much and can’t wait to hold their warm breathing bodies in my arms again🙂

Back in 2017, I was asked to sing at a graduation celebration of one of our close family friends. I asked Reekee if she would sing with me and I was thrilled when she agreed.  I messed the song up! I handed her the mic and that's when the guests came alive.  Serena and her powerful voice saved the day!!!!

And no resident will say: "I am sick." The people dwelling in the land will be pardoned.  (Isaiah 33:24) 

Serena's confidence in that heartwarming promise from our Creator,  Jehovah God, that life in this world in the future will be challenge free, and a time when all healing will be complete, was a strong anchor for her. Looking forward to her being awakened to live in that new system of things. 

I recall a precious memory of when my Auntie Reekee shared an illustration of what she envisions the Resurrection Hope will be like according to Jesus words at John 5:28: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." In her envision of it, she compared the Resurrection to a time when she was being awaken from an unconscious state under anesthesia after having surgery.  She recalled being gradually awakened from her peaceful sleep by hearing her name called softly: "Serena".  What an excellent illustration of our Resurrection Hope.  We are yearning for the time when our precious Reekee will hear God's Son calling: "Serena come on out!"

Serena was my best friend since junior high school. We shared many dreams together. A memory I will never forget is when theses 3 bullies from our jr high school was harassing me all day, Serena caught the bus home with me to my house to make sure I will be ok.
