Mrs. Sarah Lee Judge Eady was born January 7, 1935 to the late Gilbert and Jesse Mae Middleton- Judge in Charleston, S.C. Sarah was educated in Charleston County Public Schools graduating with a diploma from Bonds-Wilson High School in 1953. After graduating she furthered her education
training for key-punch and secretarial positions.
Sarah enjoyed assisting others as an employee of the Jewish Guild for the Blind in New York City, NY. She was a devoted employee of the New York City Police Department serving in several capacities such as dispatcher and clerk. Sarah thoroughly enjoyed serving her community, retiring after 30 years of service.
She was a member of several churches including House of God, Charleston, SC, Reformed House of God, of Charleston, SC as well as Garden of Prayer of New York, NY. Upon her return to Charleston she accompanied her sister Hermena for services at Bethlehem Deliverance Worship Ministries. Sarah believed in missionary work and participated in community outreach assisting in soup kitchens and collecting clothes for donations.
Sarah enjoyed family, especially taking nieces and nephews to the beach. Some of her favorite pastimes include long walks, playing video games with younger family members, listening to music, and watching professional wrestling and tennis matches.
Sarah also volunteered annually with the board of elections.
Sarah was health-conscious and focused on exercise and healthy eating. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed feeding her family.
Sarah was preceded in death by sisters Emma Jane Judge and Betty Judge Capers, brothers Ellison Judge, John Allen Judge, and Marion Judge.
And her beloved grandparents Sarah and John Ford.
She is survived by her devoted Niece Lana L. Davis (Benjamin, Jr.) of Goose Creek, SC; Special Grandnephews Darian Brown of Ladson SC, Yasair Antwon Brown of Tampa, FL and Grandniece Chanell Brown of Goose Creek, SC; Sister, Hermena Myers; former husband Samuel Eady and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
A visitation and viewing for friends and family will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston, SC for Sarah on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The celebration of life for Sarah will take place at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow thereafter at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
