Raymond Guy L’Herault, of Hanahan, SC passed away on March 3, 2021 at the age of 85. Raymond was born in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada to Bella Beaumier and Alphonse L’Herault. He received his education from Shawinigan Technical Institute and worked for Belgo Pulp and Paper Company and as an instructor at Riviere-des-Prairies Detention Center in Montreal. After moving to the United States, he worked with his beloved brother, Jacques, at Laurentide Industries, a successful metal fabrication shop. He was a loving father to two children, Yves L’Herault and France L’Herault Meyer.
He was an avid lover of music and enjoyed playing the harmonica and piano. During his retirement, Raymond enjoyed woodworking, nature, and spending time with his family. He was known for his storytelling abilities and his humor.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters, Evelyne Brousseau, Denise Angers and Lise L’Herault; and two brothers Marcel and Jacques L’Herault. He is survived by his wife Jeanne d’Arc Roy; his son Yves; his daughter France (Paul); his two granddaughters, Julia and Madelyn Meyer and many nieces and nephews. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Hanahan. Interment will be at Charleston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.
