Michael Sroka

Michael C. Sroka, 53, was called to the Lord with his family by his side on December 4, 2016. He was born in Berwyn, IL to Henry and Barbara Sroka. Michael graduated from Reavis High School, in Burbank, IL, class of '81. Michael furthered his education, attending Western Illinois University for one year. He enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country for 24 years, serving in the Persian Gulf War. Michael married Gemma (Abatayo) in 1987 and they have been happily married for nearly 30 years. Michael enjoyed sports, rooting on his beloved Chicago Bears and playing softball for many years. Mike is survived by his father, Henry, his wife Gemma, his sister Sandra (Jankowski) and brothers Ken (Theresa) and John (Dianne). He was a loving uncle to Karen Ames, Godfather to Kathleen Jankowski, Laura Ames and Stephen Ames, Jr. and uncle and cousin to several others. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Sroka (Ignarski). Visitation will be held on December 7 at 3-9 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave , North Charleston, South Carolina.
