Joshua Adam Hernandez, 28 on Sunday February 21, 2016 my best friend died. Josh went to be with the Lord, his personal savior, and left this world of struggles and personal battles. He will be dearly missed. Josh was a good friend to all, he lived by the Golden Rule, had a warm smile, open heart, and loved his dog, Soja. Josh enjoyed helping others, especially as a mobile auto mechanic, he was known for his half price repairs, and great rates for people who could not pay. Two great traits stood out in Josh; first, his desire to help others by giving of his time over and, over and over. Secondly, his warm friendly attitude as evidenced by many friends with his contagious smile. Privately speaking, he studied the Bible a lot, wanted one day to become a Preacher in the streets, and hoped to see many friends find real peace in Jesus Christ. Josh would write down many prayers as he talked with the Lord. Last, his daily struggle to just survive ended at the Feet of Jesus. His prayer from AA meeting was: “Lord, make me a channel of thy peace; that where there is hatred, I may bring love; that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness; that where there is discord, I may bring harmony; that where there is error, I may bring truth; that where there is doubt, I may bring faith; that where there is despair, I may bring hope; that where there are shadows, I may bring light; that where there is sadness, I may bring joy. Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted; to understand, than to be understood; to love, than to be loved. For it is by self-forgetting that one finds. It is by forgiving that one is forgiven. It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life. Amen.” He lived on full speed ahead. If you met him you would never forget hi. His phones calls always ended “See you later Dad, I love You!” Yes Josh, see you later! (John 11:25-26) Josh is survived by his mother and father; Beth C. Hernandez and Patrick Hernandez of Goose Creek, sister; Sarah Reyes (Steve) of Honolulu, Hawaii, brother; Nathan Hernandez (Ann) of Seattle, WA, grandmother; Charlene Caldwell of Goose Creek, several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
