John Jones

The relatives and friends of John Ray Jones, husband of Genevieve “Janie “Carroll Jones of North Charleston, SC. Are invited to attend his Funeral service on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from the hours of 2:00 P.M. until the time of service on Saturday. Committal and burial services will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. John was born to the late James M. and Irene Lemmons Jones on May 20, 1939 in Telluride Colorado. He is a former Mason with the Dorchester lodge 369, Omar Shrine Temple and the former Swamp Fox Patrol. He was an avid Duck hunter and enjoyed carving decoys. He retired from the Charleston Naval Yard as a General Foreman and Served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife Genevieve “ Janie “ Carroll Jones of North Charleston ; three daughters Renee Jones Brunson “ Ellis Brunson III “ of North Charleston, Denise Jones Tompkins of North Charleston and Celeste Jones Cockcroft “ Wade “ of Mount Pleasant; two Brothers Jerry Jones of California and Frank Jones of Missouri ; two grandchildren Morgan and Kevin Cockcroft of Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kaela Cockcroft. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made the Charleston Animal Society 2455 Remount Road North Charleston S.C. 29406.
