James Francis Benton

The relatives and friends of James Francis Benton, Widower of Caroline Fowler Benton of Goose Creek are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial and committal services will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from the 1:00 P.M. until the time of service on Tuesday August 22, 2017. He was born on July 22,1949 in Charleston to the late Eldon Benton and Neatha Groves Benton. He was a retired Civil service agent for the Army Corp’s of Engineers. He attended Miles Road Baptist Church, he loved to fish, and loved to write Poetry. He served in the United States Army during in the Vietnam War. He is survived by three daughters Lisa Limehouse (Britt) of Ladson, Cyndi McLaughlin (Warren) of Gaston and Tammy Huggins ( Omega) of West Ashley; Three Brothers Lawrence C. Benton ( Peggy) of Summerton, John J. Benton (Judy) of Summerville and Ronald A. Benton ( Maureen ) of Charleston, Sisters, Doris Hiott of Johns Island, Christine Newman of Charleston, Peggy Hart of Johns Island, Allene Cowart of Cross, Imojean Lassiter (Randall of North Charleston, Gaynell Anderson (Jerald) of Johns Island, Catherine Benton of Johns Island and Martha (Sherry) Jones (Dwayne) Raleigh, NC. Eight Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by a Brother, Eldon L. Benton.
