Frances Jackie Blaine Geiger, age 88 known to most people as "Nana" or "Jackie" went to be with the Lord just before 6AM Tuesday, Feb 16, 2021. Jackie was born to Velma Carter Blaine & James Wilber Blaine of North, SC on March 3rd, 1932. Most of her life was spent in Charleston, SC where she faithfully served the Lord at Cherokee Place United Methodist Church as choir member and occasionally as organist. She continued to drive well into her 80's and would go the retirement center and play the piano "for the old folks".
Jackie worked for several years at the Westvaco Pulp and Paper company as an inspector. She then worked her way up from secretary to comptroller at the Charleston Naval Shipyard from where she eventually retired. Jackie was also a member of the BPO DOES drove 231 for many years and served as the musician for her drove and for the state of SC. She spent many years with close friends she made there.
She had a happy spirit and loved life, people and her creator. It seems somehow fitting that she would leave this earthly place on Mardi Gras to go and dance before the Lord.
Survivors include her children Debbie Lynn Geiger of St. Matthews, SC and David A. Geiger of Clayton, NC; her grandchildren Shawn Sturkie of St. Matthews, James Craig of Embden, ME, Kim Mitchell of Odessa, TX, Katrina Geiger Furr of Winston-Salem, NC and David J. Geiger of Angier, NC and great grandchildren Christopher Sturkie, Cassandra Lee, Sarah Craig, Paul Craig, Ciera Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell and Levi Kaiser.
A Life Well Celebrated Service will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in North Charleston, SC at 10:30 am Friday Feb 19th. Burial to follow in the Carolina Memorial Gardens.
