Ernest Ben Godsey Jr

Wife of the late Katherine R and married over forty years. He is also predeceased by his son Ernie and his sister Eleanor Smith. Survived by his son Ben Steven Godsey of Myrtle Beach, SC., two grandsons Jason Godsey of Florence, SC. and Chad Godsey of Charleston, SC., one granddaughter Blake Katherine Godsey of Charleston and nephew Gary Franklin of Charleston and niece Karen Franklin formerly of Charleston..

Ben had been an active member of the Wando Woods Baptist Church in North Charleston. He was a Citadel enthusiast life time member and never missed a game. He helped organize Charleston Little League Baseball and coached baseball and football. He also was a fund raiser for the North Charleston Blue Devil's. Ben was a former Volunteer fireman for the North Charleston Fire Department. He was a "Bridge" runner. Ben worked for 60 years for Koch industries Asphalt as a dedicated employee working his way up to being the South Eastern regional manager. He was a dedicated and involved father and a committed and loving husband. He enjoyed volunteered with Wheels on Meals.

A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home for Ben will be held Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A life well celebrated service at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel will occur Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:45 AM. A burial will occur at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
