Edward received his education in the public schools of Charleston County School District. He was a spirited individual, a mama’s boy, and a dedicated fan of The Atlanta Braves, MLB, and USC Gamecocks.
Edward’s professional journey began at the age of 17 when he joined Hull’s Exxon Lube & Tube. His dedication and hard work were evident as he spent over 25 years there. Later, he transitioned to the Piggly Wiggly Corporation, where he continued to serve for 15 years before retiring. His commitment to both companies was unwavering, and he took great pride in his work.
On September 15, 1983, after meeting on a blind date, Edward married the love of his life, Nancy B. White. They were married for 37 years and spent many of those years traveling the world together.
Edward’s love for his family was a defining aspect of his life. He cherished spending time with people and particularly enjoyed the company of children. His nieces held a special place in his heart, and he adored having them around when they were younger. In his later years, he was blessed with the joy of watching his great-grandchildren grow up, a sight that brought him immense happiness.
In Edward’s final season, his relationship with his granddaughter, Shemeka, was one you had to witness. Their love for each other and her commitment to him and his care were unwavering. Everyone knew if you wanted him to do something or he was having a bad day. All you had to do was say, "I’m going to call Shemeka." He absolutely adored her and her girls.
Edward entered eternal rest on October 2, 2024, where he reunited with his beloved wife, Nancy, sister, Gertrude, brother-in-law Richard Simonds, parents, and grandparents.
Edward leaves to cherish his memories a devoted granddaughter, Shemeka Wright, and her children Aurianna and Kaylin Parker-Aull; a beloved and devoted niece, Donna(Wayne) Daws; sisters, Annis Hull and Laurie Dwyer; brothers-in-law, George “Sonny” Hull and Michael Connerton, dedicated caregiver Louise Wright, special cousin Mr. Edward & Elizabeth Temple, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
