It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Flath. Peter was born on February 13, 1938 at Hafford, SK to Elsie (Wahl) Flath and Adolph Flath. He spent his years farming in the Hafford area. He then met his wife Katie (Werstroh) from Glenbush who he married on July 7, 1967. Together they resided on the Flath Family farm where they raised their three children. After many years of farming, Peter and Katie retired to the town of Hafford, where Peter still lived until his passing. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Aldoph and Elsie Flath, his wife Katie and his grandson Avery Flath. Also predeceased by some of his extended family, where he will join in heaven. Left to cherish his memory are his children Karen (Craig) Muncaster, Kevin (Bev) Flath, Sheldon (Tracey) Flath, and his loving grandchildren; Tyler (Teneal), Brittany and Sydney Muncaster, Matthew (Rayleen), and Madison Flath, Ethan, Kye and Crystal Flath, his sisters Rita Werstroh, Ann (Ed) Egert, and his brother Alvin (Shannon) Flath, and many numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter enjoyed spending time with his family, playing many marble and crib games, and also Kaiser. At family gatherings Peter was always in charge of saying grace, where he was always very thankful for everything, especially the gatherings with his family. Another one of his favourite things was music, he loved to sing, play the harmonica and just listen to old-time music.
Special thank you to the Home Care staff in Hafford, who he enjoyed very much. I’m sure he even told them a joke or two. Also, a big thank you to the staff at the Royal University Hospital for all the care they gave Peter during his last few weeks.
Peter will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Radisson, SK. Everyone is welcome to stay for lunch and fellowship after the service.
Arrangements entrusted to Travis Minor.
