I just found out that Lennard passed by seeing that a student award is being created in the memory of his amazing work. He and I worked on campus for about the same amount of time, and though we didn't work closely together, we passed by each other in hallways enough that we went from just the friendly smile, to "hello", to stopping to chat. He was such a positive presence on campus, and will be deeply missed.

Lennard was one of the kindest, gentle, most resourceful colleagues I've ever had the pleasure to work with.  He was able to solve any finance problem, and really any problem for that matter.  From getting to know Lennard over the years, I know he loved chocolate and especially time spent with his family.  He always went above and beyond for those who needed help and support, especially students! May he rest peacefully, and I would like to send my deepest condolences to his family.  

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I just heard of the passing of your beloved Partner, Father, colleague, and friend to all who had the honor to know him.  

I had the pleasure of serving Len at his weekly Saturday trips to the grocery store for many years.  He was such a gentleman, always so soft spoken and kind.  He had a natural sparkle in his eyes that would light up any room.  We had many wonderful conversations, brief but meaningful.  He was a man of great integrity, generosity, kindness, and humor.  He was a PPFer..he always “Put People First”!  

Louise and all of Lennard’s precious family, your loss is immeasurable and my prayers for you all are many.  May the hands of time heal your broken hearts.  Goodbye is not forever or the end, I truly believe it simply means….. I will miss you my friend, until we meet again.

Lenny was one of a kind and he will be missed by me and anyone who knew him. He was famous on campus for being friendly, funny and extremely generous. The amount of food and coffees that man shared with me was incredible, many laughs shared at my expense or his (mostly mine) and memories I will treasure for my lifetime. I was very lucky to call him my friend and work with him. My sincere condolences to his family. 

To Louise and all the family:  ‘we weep for what has been our delight’  Lennard had the ability to give us all authentic delight. His positive energy and contagious smile was a breath of fresh air for all that knew him. Lennard worked hard in his professional role and made a real difference to so many on campus. His absence will be impossible to replace. His spirit will shine brightly on all that he cherished.  Many join you in missing a wonderful man. 

My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.  I met Lennard at the university.  I would always chat with him on my way to the admin building.  Passing the payroll department.  On occasion, I would see him at the Tim’s in Marquis.    Lennard was always so nice.  Respectful and always had a kind word.  I admired him for his honesty and sincerity.  I was shocked to hear of his passing.  Lennard will truly be missed.

I was always amazed by the little details Lennard would remember about you, asking how my wife and kids were doing, did I go camping this weekend, etc. It was moments like this that he made you feel special and I know he did this for every student and person that he met with. Louise, my heart is broken for you. I simply don’t know what else to say. I know how perfect you and Wee Lenny were for each other and I have very fond memories of our “wings after work” dates. Lenny’s good natured humour was absolutely contagious. Sending my love.

Lennard was such an amazing person. I worked with him ( in a different department) at the University and our paths crossed often. He started purple Thursday and I've been wearing purple every Thursday for about 5 years now. The last time I saw him, I told him that I could be anywhere in the world and would recognize his laugh. I am saddened by the passing of Lennard who was a former colleague at USask. He was a kind soul who always had a joke ready whenever we crossed paths at the Admin building. I will miss his laugh the most. Was so proud of him when he received the President’s Service Award several years ago at convocation. Very well deserved. Condolences to his family and loved ones for their loss. 

Louise I am so sorry to hear of Lennard's passing.  He was such a bright light in this world.  Never saw him without a smile and laughing.  A ball tournament was never complete unless Lennard was there.  His memory will last forever in all the many people that he has touched.  Rest easy buddy! 

Dear Louise and family, I met Leonard over 20 years ago while working in the Admin bldg.  He always met me with that big grin of his and it didn't matter what was going on, my day was a whole lot brighter because of him.  He was an angel on earth and he touched so many with his kindness. I met Lenny nearly 7 years ago shortly before we went to Edson together. He was so kind and welcoming. He asked if Louise could borrow my treaty card to buy some smokes, I gave him a funny look and he burst out his contagious, boisterous laugh.  He was always cracking jokes. Anyone who knew him was lucky to be graced with his presence… such a thoughtful, sweet friend and his smile always lit up the room. Rest easy Lenny ❤️  You will be deeply missed is an understatement. 

My name is Tannicka, I am a veterinary student at the University of Saskatchewan. This is where I got to know Lennard. Ever since the first year of my first undergraduate degree in 2014 Lennard has helped me make sure that my tuition was paid by my First Nation Band. He was the one I went to when I had questions or concerns and I always knew he was on my side. I  very much regret that I didn't get to have one more coffee with him. I am so grateful for the friendship that we had and I will miss him.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Leonard helped me navigate tuition payments and  band funding numerous times during my academic career. He was always so warm, caring, genuine and helpful. You could really tell he enjoyed people and I will always remember his help.

I first met Lennard 25 years ago when I worked in a college office at the U of S.  All of my dealings with him were pleasant and professional and he always had a smile on his face.
For the past 18 years I've worked in a different unit but continued to see him on campus.  Every time I saw him he either had a wave and a smile or a "hi" and a smile.  He will be missed around campus.
My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

He was always an amazing help at the student centre at usask. I remember that I was struggling with paying my tuition fees because of my limited funds and I couldn’t register for classes, he helped me register and pay the fees when I had the money. He was always helping students like me. May he rest in peace 💕

Lennard, I will always remember you for your ability to make people feel at ease, seen, heard and welcome. Your ability to be fully present with each person you interacted with was so special and something I noticed the first time we met, the last time we talked and every time in between. I have no doubt that your humour, kindness and smile will be forever etched in many of our memories. It was a privilege to work alongside you.

My wife, Roxanne, taught Lennard at the College here in North Battleford in mid-90s & then we played slo pitch on his team for 2-3 years.  Lennard was a kind, caring person with a great sense of humour.  Haven’t seen him since late 90s.  I wish we would have ran into him at some point over the years.   This news is very shocking  & saddening.  May God grant you Eternal Peace Lennard! 

I taught Lennard at FNTI in North Battleford and played ball with him. He was truly a genuinely kind soul with a great sense of humour. He had the most infectious laugh!  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP my friend. 

I did a very brief stint in admin at the UofS in early 2004.  Lennard was so very nice to me   I didn’t stay in admin but remained on campus many years. He always seemed to remember me and always asked hows it going? With a comment about the weather or something.   He was very kind and social and he will be missed by everyone.  My sincere condolences to his friends and family.  

Every day I could count on seeing Lennard in the bowl or in Student Central with his Tim’s and I was always the recipient of a cheery greeting. He was cheeky and kind; serious and funny; and committed to looking after people - all people. I am in bits at this loss and my heart goes out to his family. Oh Lennard, you will be definitely missed. I worked with Lennard for many, many years and he was always so kind, caring and generous to everyone he met. I worked with Lennard for a time at Usask and I will never forget his kindness, his big heart, and contagious laugh that always put a smile on my face. Lennard had a positivity and thoughtfulness for others that’s rare. Whenever I was in student central he’d come by with a chocolate, a smile, and some encouraging words. I always enjoyed visiting with him. He was an incredible example of generosity and building others up. You are an amazing person Lennard. To Lennard’s family, I’m so very sorry for your loss and I’m praying for you in this difficult time. He will be so missed. 

I will forever miss Lenny.  Playing ball with him were the best times.  He made every game and tournament fun no matter what.  I’ll miss my ball partner.  Last year it was me and him showing up to our league games together.  I’d pick him up and off we’d go, laughs all evening.  I’ll miss that ♥️🥎

I had the pleasure of working with Lennard.  It was impossible not to smile whenever he was around.  He would love to tease both my sister and I whenever he got the chance. I first met Lennard more than fifteen years ago, and every time our paths crossed, whether for work-related reasons or just in passing on campus, I went on my way with just a little more joie de vivre. His laugh was infectious, and his joy and kindness were inspiring. The shared moments of stories, jokes, and donuts will be greatly missed, and I feel very sad at this unexpected loss. My condolences to Lennard’s family, he was truly a human treasure and will not be forgotten.    

My heart breaks to hear this news.  Lennard was such an amazing person and I feel lucky to have known him for over 25 years.  He was a ray of sunshine and someone I ensured to stop by and chat with in every visit to Admin.   His genuine spirt, his dedication and love of people and family was inspiring.   I'm so glad I'm a hugger and got a hug earlier this year from him, that hug will last.  I hope the family has many of the same memories to help them.  

I was so lucky to have met Lennard, even for the short time I was one of  his recent hospital room mates.  We quickly became friends.  He was a caring, compassionate funny man. Sherry, Lennard and I talked and looked out for each other. He spoke of Louise, his love, and how blessed he was to have her in his life. They had the same qualities, we saw that everyday when she came to visit.

Lennard was just one of those people that it was always a genuine pleasure when you got to see him. I have had the honour of knowing Lennard for the past several years. A colleague,  a friend. We shared stories often about our children and grandchildren. I was deeply saddened to hear of Lennard’s passing. Before I retired in 2021 I was the General Manager of the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union and considered myself truly blessed to have a colleague on the university side as wonderful as Lennard. He was a kind and gentle soul who made everyone with whom he came in contact feel just that much better for his time in their life. He was so good with students - patient, understanding, and dedicated. The students themselves recognized his remarkable service by giving him the Doug Favell award for excellence in a university staff member. On occasion he and I would ride the bus together and I loved to hear his stories, especially those about his trip to Scotland. He will be terribly missed.  My deepest condolences to his family and many friends 



Lennard Fox was an amazing human being, and he made sure to treat you like you were one. I remember the first time I met him at the U of S i 
2016. He agreed to show the members of the Aboriginal Career Start program around campus. He was very welcoming, and took us all to Timhortons, his favorite place on campus. I knew that we would be friends throughout my our time on campus, and we were. I remember just wanting to be around him because he made me fell welcomed in such a big place.  I remember his laugh, his inappropriate jokes, and his smile the most! He was so giving, so kind, and so down to earth. I didn't get that much time with him, but I'm glad that I was able to meet him and I'm proud to call him my friend and to say I knew him. I will forever miss seeing his face, having coffee with him in the mornings before we started work. I will miss hearing his laugh while I work, going out for wings, and playing pool with him. I love you my friend ❤️ may you rest in peace.

I worked with Lennard at the U of S for many years. He was such a compassionate, kind, helpful and generous friend and co-worker.  Always bringing me donuts and even ones for my daughter to take home at the end of the work day. He always asked about my family. I will miss him so much. I have been friends with Lennard since the first week he came to work at the U of S. he was such a good guy. We dressed him up for Halloween in some of the best costumes and he let us. I will miss him so much.
