Trebble Lavon Judd joyously arrived at her heavenly home, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, October 30, at the Integris Hospice House, in Oklahoma City. Born in Le Flore, OK, in 1938, to John Smith and Sadie Cleo Gibson, she was the youngest of 11 children. Although she was proud to be the daughter of a sharecropper, she became a world traveler when she married her life-long sweetheart, Richard Max Judd on May 21, 1957.
Marriage to Richard opened the door to a life of adventure, beginning with their first Navy Station in Honolulu, Hawaii. From there, they moved to other Navy Bases in Olathe, KS; Millington, TN; Whidbey Island, WA; and Fallon, NV. After discharge from the Navy, they briefly moved to Beaver, then Hennessey, before Richard enlisted in the Air Force. They were stationed at Burns Flat; Clark AFB, Philippine Islands; Laredo, TX; and Great Fall, MT. Retirement from the Air Force brought them back to Red Oak, where they ranched for seven years. Then they moved to Beaver, before settling in Norman in 1988.
Trebble was deeply spiritual and led her life according to her faith in Christ Jesus. She was a long-time member of the Baptist Church, faithfully serving in each new location. In recent years, she was a regular volunteer at the CrossPointe Church food pantry. She had many talents, and sharing them with family, friends and neighbors was a joy. She loved to cook and entertain. She was an avid gardener, and loved being outdoors. She had a life-long love of music that prompted her to take piano lessons as an adult. As she grew older, she began to write, and had a wonderful way of crafting stories about her life with Richard and their family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; six brothers; and a granddaughter, Amanda Lee Judd.
Trebble is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Kathy Wolford and Teresa Autry; and son Gregory Judd; brothers, Everett Gibson and his wife Loretta, and M.C. Gibson and his wife June; grandchildren Joshua, Andrew, and Cory Jenkins, Jonathan Hollingback, Matthew Autry, Tabitha Zurovetz, Hannah Blue, and Savanna Dyer. She has 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Informal visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, Norman, on Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2. The funeral will be held on Monday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. at CrossPointe Baptist Church in Norman. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.
The family wishes to convey their deep gratitude to the nurses and aides at Loving Care Hospice, Noble, OK, and Integris Hospice House, Oklahoma City. Your gentle care and kindness will never be forgotten.
