Ronnie was born November 25, 1944, in Oklahoma City, OK , to OJ and Bunny (Champine) Toland. He grew up in Nicoma Park and graduated from Choctaw High School in 1962. He worked at Back to Back BE Chinchilla Farm prior to joining the United States Navy on February 15, 1965. He was honorably discharged on November 16, 1970. Ronnie then worked for the United States Postal Service and retired after over 20 years of service. One of his passions was Crazy Horse and he visited annually to participate in the Crazy Horse Volksmarch. Ronnie loved music, dancing, astronomy, and his sports cars. He was an avid OU football fan and loved watching Alfred Hitchcock, Dirty Harry, and Jeopardy. He also loved playing the guitar in his spare time. But most of all Ronnie loved his family and spending time with them.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his four children: Diane Feightner and husband, Mark of Enid, Jana Williams and husband, Sean of Norman, Lainey Phillips and husband, Grayson of Norman and Nathan Toland and wife, Dani of Edmond; 11 grandchildren: Mason, Morgan and Madison Feightner, Courtney and Asher Williams, Sierra Smith, Kaden and Brennon Phillips and Gwenna, Lilli and Luke Toland; siblings: Jerry “Butch” Toland and wife, Beth, Judy Heffron and twin brother Don Toland and wife Melodie; 9 nieces and nephews; and his dog, Johnnie.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Nick Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 – 8 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
The family is requesting for everyone to bring their favorite photo of Ronnie to the visitation or service so it can be placed with him.
