Mildred "Millie" Wood Brown

Mildred “Millie” Wood Brown was born in Norman, Oklahoma on July 28, 1930 to Roy and Sarah (Thomason) Jackson. Millie went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Noble, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years.

Millie attended Norman High School and graduated in 1948. Millie enjoyed gardening, loved to square dance and spending time with her family. Millie worked as a telephone operator for SW Bell for many years until AT&T took the business over. Millie was of Catholic faith and was known as a good cook, and will be missed by all that knew and loved her will miss her.

Millie is survived by her children, Sharon Fletcher of Iowa Park, Tx, Gary Scott and wife Tammy of Moore, OK, Dee Hayes and husband Larry of Norman, OK; sisters, Sara Miller of Norman and Jeri Gifford of Ada, OK; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sarah Jackson; spouse, Raymond Brown; son-in-law, Bill Fletcher; sister, Oleta Webb and her husband Minor; brother-in-law, Richard Miller; her two loving dogs, Jingles and Beau.

A graveside service for Millie will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Norman IOOF Cemetery, 1913 N. Porter ave, Norman, OK 73071.
