Ever the opportunistic and eager teacher, Marilyn instilled in her beloved daughters an appreciation for education, value of hard work, personal strength and ferocious independence. Marilyn loved to travel and also taught her daughters to appreciate new places, adventure and nature. Marilyn was a leader and teacher to all those around her, including her ladies Sunday School Class and Bible study. She held strong to her beliefs and convictions.

She loved music of all kinds and shared it with her daughters, singing loudly on all the countless road trips. Marilyn loved concerts, plays, shows and comedy. Her laugh was infectious. She also taught us to appreciate the quiet, still moments in the world around us especially when gardening and birdwatching. Marilyn had a tender heart, generous and loving spirit and was a dependable friend.
The world is a better place due to all the countless lives she touched and taught; from her multitude of students throughout her 33 year teaching career, her years of involvement with the Church, those lucky enough to be called her friends and those blessed enough to be called her family. She truly had a heart for all people and shared all that she had.
