She was born in Pilot Point, TX on February 15, 1920 to John and Gussie Baker Hopper. She moved with her parents to Oklahoma in the late 1920’s in a covered wagon, when the draw bridge was across the Red River and settled in the Stratford area where she spent most of her childhood.
Margria married Alva Martin on September 7, 1937 in Pauls Valley, OK. The couple moved to Arizona for about a year but came back to Stratford until 1956 when they moved to Shawnee. In 1962 they moved to Norman, OK. With this union they were blessed with 9 children; 4 boys and 5 girls. Margria moved to Eufaula in March of 2011 to live with her son Terry and daughter in law Linda.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and trying new recipes, doing crafts like ceramics and floral arrangements, quilting, gardening vegetables and flowers but above all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children: Dean Howard of Norman, Terry (Linda) Martin of Eufaula, Brinda (Steve) Warren of Checotah and Kay (Tommy) McCullar of Checotah; as well as 65 plus descendants.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children: Patsy Martin, Chester Martin, Linda Jacobs, Glen Martin, John Martin; two granddaughters; three brothers and one sister.
