Janice Marie Frost Barbour died February 7, 2017 of a short illness.
Preceded in death by her parents Joe and Grace and brother Jack Noel Frost, Janice was the beloved wife of Joel Barbour and the devoted mother of their sons, James and John. Janice is also survived by her sister Patricia and many Hart, Frost and Ercolini cousins.
Janice was proud to be a multi-generation born San Franciscan some of whose ancestors arrived in the city on a sailing ship which had come around the Horn from Boston. For ten years Janice worked as an executive assistant in the Middle East division of Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco.
Janice’s 45 year marriage to the love of her life, Joel were her happiest years. Janice’s long time hobby of photography and her participation in the Bicentennial patriotic fireplug program in Norman led to the publication of her fireplug photos and article on the 1976 cover of the Sunday Oklahoman Orbit Magazine. Janice designed and sewed many unique Halloween costumes for her sons over the years as well as creating and sewing over 200 costumes for her son’s Norman elementary school plays. Janice’s greatest joy was spending time with her beloved husband and sons.
