Rose was born on October 26, 1926 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late John and Juanita Dyer. Rose was the loving and caring mother to her sons the late Robert Counter and Thomas Counter. Her six siblings preceded Rose in death.
Rose worked as a supervisor in the accounting supply department for many years. For forty years Rose would walk five miles a day. For forty-two years of Rose’s life she was a member of TOPS/KOPS-Take Off Pounds Sensibly-Keep Off Pounds Sensibly where she was an inspiration to them all. Rose was quite a “Social Butterfly”. While living in Hawaii, Rose was a Hula Dancer, she would enjoy performing shows in front of audiences, family and friends. Dancing and playing bingo at The Moose Lodge was a every weekend hobby for Rose. Appearance was another attribute, Rose would love to do her make up daily, and even take weekly trips to her favorite hairdresser. The Catholic Faith was a huge part of Rose’s life; she was a lifelong member of the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Left to cherish the legacy and memory of Rose Dyer Counter, her son Thomas Counter wife Elizabeth; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
