He was preceded in death by his life partner Pat Johnson, parents, Noah Leaton and Donnie Spear Ambrose, and his sister Katie Roche.
Gene is survived by his son Edward "Bud" Ambrose Jr (BJ);his daughter Joy Craft (Lawrence); siblings, Mary Byrum, Wilbur Ambrose, NL Ambrose and Clara Weaver; Step-son, George Nelsen (Julie); step-daughters, Lydia Gourlay and Lynn Johnson; grandchildren, Charlie, Christine, Randy, Meagan, Destiny, Christopher, Sherry, Ian, Jenna, Johnny and Carey; great grandchildren, Elsie, Ezra, Elijah, Drayton, Braxton, Teagan and Dawson.
After 31 years in the army, Gene retired from service as a Field Medic. Following his retirement, Gene joined the civil service and acted as an Aircraft Electrician. In his spare time, he loved to travel , playing bingo, slot machines and frequent trips to atlantic city with his life partner Pat.
He was a great Dad to his children and devout Primitive Baptist.
