Nécrologie de Earl Deen Jones
Earl Deen Jones, 98, known to most as “Pop” went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 18, 2022. Earl was born in Pitt County, NC to the late William and Clara Keel Jones. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Millie Irene Jones of 67 years. He is also predeceased by 2 brothers, Wilbert and Edward Jones, 5 sisters, his twin, Madeline, Myrtle, Christine, Effie Mae and Linda, a grandson, Michael Harrison and a son in law, Dennis Belangia. Earl served in the U. S Navy during WW2. He was serving on the water while his brother, Wilbert, was on the land. He later worked and retired as assistant manager of Lowes. Earl was an active member of Redeemed Church of God and served as a member of the board. He will always be remembered for his cooking, gardening and hard work but most of all, his love for the church, worshiping, praying and just loving Jesus. Anyone that knew Pop, knew he loved his wife and family dearly. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Faye Osborne (Larry), James “Jimmy” Jones (Johanna), Phyllis Belangia; 9 grandchildren, Wayne Osborne (Orda), Kandi Smith (Robert), Travis Jones, Bryon Jones (Maria), Johnnie Ray (Stephanie), Brandon Harrison, Joshua Belangia (Jessica), James Belangia and Leyanah Belangia; 16 great-grandchildren, Brian, Justin, Tyler (Emily), Jordan (Haleigh), McKenzie, Nicole, Madison (Ella), Wayne Jr., Alex, Alana, Matthew, Brandon, Matticus, Emmalyn, Brandon, and Cheyenne; and 6 great-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Serenity, Briana, Gabriel, Elena, Tucker. Special thanks to Marie Taylor and Renee Cherry for all the love and care they have given to Pop. They are truly family, not by blood but by love. Many thanks to Shelia King and the hours of sitting with Pop and learning to love our family. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 12:00pm at Redeemed Church of God, 1300 Jackson Ave, Chesapeake, VA, presided by Rev. Charles Hughes and Rev. Eddie Carter. Family will meet following the service at the home of Earl Jones. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
