I only knew Daniel for a short time. However, he touched my heart with his kindness that was deep within. His memory will live on.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in your loss.  I can't imagine  your grief and pain.  But what I can do is pray for you and Daniel - that Jesus helps to get you through these difficult days and that Daniel is Home now with Jesus rewarded for his final acts of love and generosity and kindness.

I will always remember our summers together when we vacationed to Aunt Ann’s and Uncle Dan’s in Virginia Beach when we were younger. Daniel and I were close in age and would often hang out. Me being from the country and him being from more of a city he would often take me around to cause a little mischief, creating countless memories. 

Two years ago, I found out we were both randomly detailed to San Diego, California. Rarely having seen or spoken to Daniel in about 15 years I IMMEDIATELY reached out to him to meet. He responded back almost instantly texting back, "Hell Yeah"! 

So, Daniel agreed to pick me up the next day because he had a company commuter truck. We decided to go to the San Diego Zoo. We found out it was gigantic with tons of wild animals and beer gardens. What more did we need!? 

Well the next day arrives and here came Daniel and Jackie pulling up to my hotel in a bright yellow, 28 ft Penske "work commuter truck". He rolled down the window and says "it ain't pretty but it'll get us there", and it did. We had a pretty fun day visiting the animals catching up on our lives and how the families were doing (we lived a few states apart) and having the occasional stop at the beer gardens.

A few days later he messaged me saying we should go out down-town to which I immediately agreed. So, we met at our first stop down-town and spent most of the night bar/club hopping. What a night to remember! A lot of laughter and a night I will not soon forget. I remember how we thought it was funny that someone you haven't seen or rarely talked to in 15 years can met up randomly and pick up right where you left off like a game of chess that sat idle all those years just waiting for the players to return. "That’s family" we agreed. 

Just like that I felt like we were back to the way it was years ago he was taking me around causing a little mischief and creating countless memories...

Until we reunite again.

Dear Daniel,  I look forward to your next hug some day.  How can it beat the last one to match your beaming grin.  Keep doing your good work from your new address in heaven.  We will miss you greatly, each with our own memories to share.  Love, Gram.

Daniel..Your still my sweet Little Man.  I remember when celebrating your birthday at Grampy Sam's and Grammys house everyone started singing to you and scared the Bjezzez out of you. It was a priceless moment of total cuteness.  You, Joey and Heather have a special place in my heart. Love you sweetie. Rest in peace now. xoxoxo.

Aunt Laurie and I took Joey and Daniel on a trip to Maine.  I believe Daniel was 2 or 3 and Joey was about 5 or 6. We decided to go up to the farm for a visit. We peaked in on the cows ,played with the kittens and the boys sat on the tractor.  While heading back down the road we rounded the bend and what did we see. A skunk, that's right. A skunk that was headed right for us. The boys thought this was great. Laurie and I ,not so much.  So with much laughter  and I'm sure a few  %@$#!%  we wrangled the boys on to our backs and gave them piggy back rides . We quietly swapped sides of the road and made it passed and then ran back to Grampa Joe and Grandma Debs. 
These boys were always a memorable adventure.   Love you Daniel, Rest in Peace

God of love and mercy, embrace all those whose hearts today overflow with grief, unanswered questions and such a sense of loss. Grant them space to express their tears. Hold them close through the coming days. I know that words, no matter how kind, can’t mend your heartache. However, I want you to know that those who care for you wish you comfort and peace of mind.
