Clarence G. Felts beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on January 19, 2022. He was born on April 14, 1925 to the late Carrie B. and Benjamin Franklin Felts in Smithfield, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice V. Felts, to whom he was married and devoted for 72 years. He was predeceased by his brother Morris and his wife Joyce and his brother Rudy and his wife Jean.
He was a kind and gentle soul who loved unconditionally. Clarence and Alice built their home in Kempsville where for over 50 years the entire family made many happy memories. Mr. Felts retired as a sailmaker from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 39 years of service, He owned and operated an awning business for many years. He enjoyed camping; fishing; playing cards, checkers, cornhole and dominoes; and “piddling around the house”. He was the patriarch of our family and we were blessed to have him for 96 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Roberts; two sons, Michael Felts and wife Debbie and Paul Felts, wife Marie and Paul’s stepchildren, Claire, Rhiannon and Sophie. Also left to cherish his memory are his grand-daughter, Sheri Husser and her husband John; grandson, Christopher Roberts and his wife, Wendy; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary and Jacob. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews.
