She is survived by her beloved son Russell Anthony Duhe’ (Michelle) and her loving daughter Kim Duhe’ Weber (Donnie), her grandchildren Courtney Behrnes, Kayren Ruiz, Dylan Duhe’, Ariel Duhe’, Dallas Duhe’, Dalton Duhe’, and Taylor Rose Duhe’. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren Clark, Victor, Troy, Zoë, and Oliver Behrnes, and Aubriella and Jiraiya Ruiz and many adored nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her dear first-born son Andrew “Andy” Carl Duhe’ as well as her parents Irene Cicet Duhe’ and Evariste Daniel Duhe’, brothers Daniel Duhe’, Richard “RJ” Duhe’, Lance Duhe’, Gilbert Duhe’, Robert “Clay’ Duhe’, James “Allen” Duhe’, Jerry Duhe’ and sisters Elizabeth “Bessie” Duhe’, Anna Rose Duhe’ Vicknair, and Ruby Duhe’ Remondet. She was a very prayerful, gentle Mother “Mom” and grandmother with a caring heart who loved all her children and grandchildren the same. She was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickaw, La. She was an avid reader who cherished the English language and the number of books she read in her lifetime are endless. She enjoyed drawing, embroidering, music, singing, playing the piano, and always noticed the “little” things like four-leaf clovers and sparrows. “For His Eyes are on the Sparrow”. She loved flowers and would always stop to smell them. Phyllis was also an excellent seamstress. She attended Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve, La. where she was a Majorette and was awarded a full scholarship to LSU in 1957. Not knowing where the road would lead her, she always had a smile to share, kept her faith in God even in difficult times and certainly shared her heart and love with her family and everyone she met. Most of all she loved children. She will be dearly and forever missed by her friends and family, including our loving pet Chewbacca “Chewbie”. Many fond memories were shared through the years with her extended family, the Webers, the Wennings and Johnny and Kathy Canatella. They truly welcomed her into their lives with open arms. A special thanks to Community Care Hospice, Father Michael Galea, Deacon Al Levy, JJ and Mary Vicknair, Patsy Duhe’ and devoted friends Bonnie Millet and Shimita Jones.
