Irma Rose was a kind, loving and generous wife and mother, who gave a home to many cats and dogs, as well as to children and grandchildren in times of household transition. She trained in data processing and worked for Higgins Industries at Michoud during World War II. Once married, she ran her household and volunteered as a teacher in public schools and for catechism.
For over forty years, she volunteered at St. Charles Social Concerns Thrift Store, helping to turn donated items into funds to help the poor. She was an active member of Holy Family Busy Bees and loved traveling with them and with her family.
She was always committed to causes in support of animals and the poorest in our society and supported them through donations. Her liberal mind kept her in touch with all the younger generations and set a touchstone for her family.
May she rest in well-deserved peace.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 22 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama. Visitation at 9 AM and Mass at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Charles Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed at www.HCAlexander.com
