Dolores Roussel Landeche

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “George” Landeche Sr., her parents, Oliver J. “Cotton” Roussel and Isabelle Laiche Roussel, and her siblings, Robert “Bobby” Roussel Sr. (Helen), Dorothy “Dot” Ayme (Chester), Annabelle “Nibby” Fuselier (Ed), and Florette “Flo” George (Hiram).

She is survived by her three children whom she deeply and wholeheartedly loved, Tracey Landeche (Danette), Lori Landeche, and Robert “Bobby” Landeche Jr. (Vickie), her brother, Gerald Roussel, and all her grand-dogs, whom she loved and enjoyed.

Dolores and George lived and raised their 3 children in Norco, LA. She worked many jobs throughout her life, from her first job as a teenager at the ice cream and soda shop on Apple St. to her retirement from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. In the better parts of her life, she was always doing something. Cleaning something, being at her camp in Grand Isle, enjoying treasured time with her family, and actively involved in life’s pleasures or woes. As those “somethings” dwindled, so did her zest, but she never stopped trying. Dee had the strongest will to live of anyone ever known. Simply put, she hated growing old! Her family faced many struggles and challenges during her last years of life, but Dolores faced each one with as much grace and strength as she could muster. She was one special lady who held so many family and friends inside her heart. To say she will be missed is an understatement. To say she will always be loved is a fact.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, 22 Apple St. Norco, LA. Visitation will be held from 10 AM – 1 PM with a Catholic Memorial Mass to begin at 1 PM presided by Fr. Paul Clark. Inurnment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA.
